The Virginia Fishing Pier is now open as of April, 1st for the spring the pier will be open to all from 8am until 8pm and in the summer months it will be open 24 hours a day great for daytime or nighttime fishing. Adults fishing or crabbing on the pier will pay $10 and children 12 and under $5 just to stroll the pier maybe for some good picture taking or just to relax is $2. If fishing or crabbing on the pier anglers are allowed two fishing rods or crab nets per fishermen. At the pier tackle shop you can purchase ice, bait and tackle, rod rentals are $8 per rod. Also on the pier you will find Ocean Eddie’s Seafood Restaurant, a gift shop and bike rentals. It has been reported by locals that around this time of the year you see blowfish or also known as puffer fish, Small striped bass seen around the pier pilings. During the summer fishing heats up here around the pier and anglers catch bluefish, Spanish mackerel, roundhead and spot to name a few. Spadefish in large numbers congregate by the pier in the summer months as well it has been said, shellfish seems to work for many fishermen in catching them.
