The Goleta Fishing Pier is in California and is 1,450 feet long the pier is great for fishermen with a wide variety of fish species to be caught around the pier. Here are some of the fish species around the pier Halibut, Corbina, Bass, Barracuda, Rockfish and more. Brown live bait is what the locals are said to fish with as bait, if you fish inshore in shallower waters you can catch queenfish, sardines, halibut for larger catches head to the far end of the pier. At the far end you can catch kelp bass, sand bass, scorpionfish, cabezon and lingcod. At night the far end of the pier becomes popular for local fishermen trying to catch sharks like the leopard shark or blue sharks. Parking for the pier is free and there are areas great for picnicking or stop in at the restaurant. This pier also has something else that is unique it has an “Angler Center” which houses specie information, seasonal fishing information, best baits and rigs for certain fish and much more.
